Jeffrey the Dude NFT partners with One Tree Planted to restore Bamboo forest in West Africa
We’re thrilled to announce our successful partnership with onetreeplanted to plant 5000+ trees over the next several months (i.e. for every Jeffrey NFT that is minted, one tree will be plated somewhere in Ghana). This is as a result of the brand’s commitment to sustainability, mitigating environmental impacts caused by climate change, giving back to the environment and contributing to a greener tomorrow.
Aside reducing the harmful effects of climate change, trees are also essential to the health of our planet as they help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s biodiversity. Reforestation is consistently identified by scientists as one of the top solutions to the climate crisis.
Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and supporting communities devastated by environmental damage.
Our partnership would also addresses some of the main criticism of NFTs, as there are lots of speculations over energy consumption even though blockchain companies have been coming up with sidechains and other ways of reducing or offsetting that energy usage.
