We are living in an inquiring and innovation-oriented society. The demand of twenty first century is novelty, creativity, and integration of knowledge at global level, research, critical and analytical thoughts. Rapid social changes are creating uncertainty and complexity in the society. To prepare the children and youth to cope with the present situation we need to develop analytical and critical thinking, skill and attitude that would make them more flexible and innovative to deal with uncertainty and crises at national and global level.

Africa is known to have the highest rate of educational exclusion in the world. In Sub-Saharan Africa for example, Over one-fifth of children between the ages of about 6 and 11 are out of school, followed by one-third of youth between the ages of about 12 and 14. (UNESCO)

This shows clearly the reason why African nations are lacking behind in terms of innovation, research and development which in turn results in underdevelopment and poverty among others.

Education is the driving force for the national development in any country of the world and when nations are build upon education, economic growth can be increased, because if the peoples of a country are educated they can easily grow up the national economy for they can better know the economic principles and rules and can think about them easily if they are educated.

However, Money has been a long term hinderance to education and it has contributed largely on the rate of illiteracy and national backwardness in many African Countries. In Nigeria for example, you may struggle to enroll in public schools (government owned) to finish your preliminary studies (Primary and Secondary education), however Admission to varsity is sometimes difficult for the middle and lower classes, the factors that hinders it include, corruption in selection processess where admission is being influenced by some certain things e.g. family background, bribery etc snd Financial Constraint (both the cost of enrolling and living) among others whereas the candidate meet all the requirements to be eligible for the admission process.

Public Schools are also known for poor educational standards, lack of facilities, qualified teachers etc. so Quality Education can’t be guaranteed. That is why we have higher rate of dropouts and many would stop at secondary level because they can’t afford university education and when scholarship opportunities are available, the middle and upper class are always the top beneficiaries if not all.

we need education for ALL, irrespective of the financial status, race, colour, religion or any other factor, Education should be a right which every human being is entitled to.

we NEED EDUCATION to fight poverty, for national development, sustainable development and lot’s more

It saddens me a lot to see people try to make changes, inventing new things, innovating but all being neglected just in the name of “Being an illiterate”. Should they have proper education and training, their skills may have transformed the world.

The illiterate blacksmith at your backyard carving an helicopter, Your neighbor’s child that made a flying jet with a carton, the illiterate man you watched on TV who made a moving bicycle with water, don’t you appreciate seeing them? Do you think they wish to remain illiterate? Don’t you think they want to be known and appreciated just like others? don’t you think they have dreams just like you?

but what is their Barrier? >> Money and Equal Opportunity!

Who cares about an illiterate, can you even invest in his idea?

Education gives people the skills they need to help themselves out of poverty or, in other words, into prosperity. If one got education then he is able to a better job then a labor’s work. He is ale to do a government job or any other private job and can show their skills which are helpful in developing a country. There is huge difference between an educated and uneducated person, an uneducated can’t show his ideas and skills better than an educated person. Hence, it is the education which can leads a person from poverty into prosperity.
